Who We Are:

Fall Artwalk is back! And the Island Artists Gallery is so excited to invite Sitka to join us for a celebration of community and great art, Friday, November 25th from 5-8:30pm. It’s the day for tax-free shopping and music by Sitka’s own “Bellymeat,” will make it all the more festive this holiday season. We are so thankful for the support of this wonderful community and want to share our appreciation with you! Stop by the gallery to visit with our artists, see their new works, and meet our new artists.

We have a whole new contingent of artists this year:

  • Lynne Brandon who creates fabulous art quilts expressing the surroundings of Sitka in a complex and stunning art form.

  • Petra Lechner enhances her gemstone pieces with intricate and unusual wire wrapping to bring us unique and delectable jewelry.

  • Senolden Norwood focuses on strong, beautiful pieces of copper and silver wire wrapped bracelets and jewelry creating wonderful gifts for men.

  • Christina Van Den Hoogen says that her handmade journals are inspired by the relationship between land and sea, and these beautiful books will equally inspire the artist or writer to capture the wonder of this place.

  • Cayla Pook McCutcheon is back with the earrings that Sitka loves and is developing her art in new directions as she works with silversmithing in addition to her micro macrame and gemstone jewelry.

  • Thais Taylor brings a bit of Puerto Rico and warmer islands to mesh with her fresh-water pearl designs. Her elegant artwork pairs leather and delicate chain with pearls.

  • Alicia Porter Harris and her son Carrington Severs developed Monkshood Meadow Creations to showcase their fused glass artwork in bright and beautiful colors.

  • Tracie Castle offers her beautiful stained glass pieces large and small.

  • To our great delight, Barbara Bingham has found her way back to the gallery with her lovely gemstone, bead, and crystal lightcatchers reflecting the light and color of this ocean world.

  • This is the last chance to see watercolors and acrylics by Cinnamon Dockham, who is off following the bears to Katmai Nat. Park

These talented and interesting artists join the rest of our Island Artists Gallery crew as well as a few consignment artists in displaying a wide scope of artwork for your treasures and holiday gifts.
