At Abby’s Reflection, during Porch Fest, Lisa Moore, local quilter and pattern designer, will have a selection of her quilts for sale. Quilts, tablerunners and wallhangings, in the Alaska theme, all designed and made by Lisa, will be for sale at Abby’s Reflection. Following, please read her bio.
Featured Artist: Quilter Lisa Moore

Lisa Moore fell in love with Sitka when her husband was stationed here in the Coast Guard, and they retired here in 2000. Lisa, a retired electrical engineer, started her quilt pattern business Quilts With a Twist with encouragement from Jill Scheidt (owner of Abby’s Reflection) in 2004. Lisa has worked with others on her coastal appliqué projects; including seven projects with Tommy Joseph, five with her husband, David Moore, and one amazing humpback whale project with Don Sineti, well known for his sea chanties at Sitka’s Whale Fest.
Currently Lisa is in semi-retirement, and Quilts with a Twist is now owned by fellow coast guard wife, Audrey Curran. Lisa still designs projects several times a year when new fabric comes along that she cannot resist. In 2020, she made over 1,000 masks, with proceeds to benefit the community outreach programs for St Peters. When not quilting, she is busy with Sitka Tree and Landscape Committee, and enjoying ocean activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, crabbing, and cooking all the fresh sea harvest!
